Dataiku Pricing 2026: Editions, Costs and What to Expect

Dataiku doesn't publish a price list. There's a free, self-hosted edition, a 14-day free trial, and everything past that requires a conversation with sales.

This guide to Dataiku pricing covers what's free, the third-party estimates circulating online (each named and dated), what drives a custom quote, and how Dataiku's cost compares to Alteryx, Databricks, KNIME, and Prophecy.

Dataiku pricing: How much does Dataiku cost?

Dataiku has no public price list. The only two options with a published price are the Free Edition (no cost, no time limit) and the 14-day free trial. Every other request routes to a demo or a sales conversation.

What's free with Dataiku?

Plan Free Edition 14-day free trial
Deployment Self-hosted (Linux; Mac and Windows for testing only) Cloud, fully managed
Time limit None 14 days
Credit card required No No
Users Up to 3 users Up to 2 users
Compute Local machine 4 CPUs, 32GiB elastic compute, 1 API service
Governance & advanced LLM Mesh Not included Not included

The Free Edition installs directly on your own machine and keeps running for as long as you want it, with no cloud account required.

The 14-day trial is the cloud alternative. It's ready in minutes, with every feature turned on except Govern and advanced LLM Mesh, and Dataiku's registration page states that trial data is hosted by Dataiku and access ends when the trial ends.

Note: Dataiku's own page is inconsistent on trial seat count. The marketing copy says up to 5 users, while the trial FAQ specifies 2 users with the stated compute.

Those two exclusions, Govern and advanced LLM Mesh, are the clearest public signal of what Dataiku treats as a paid, enterprise-tier capability.

What drives a Dataiku quote?

Four things show up repeatedly across Dataiku's own product pages and third-party buyer reports as the levers behind a quote.

  • Deployment model comes first. Dataiku runs on-premises, in your own cloud, or through a Dataiku-hosted instance, and anything beyond the basic cloud trial routes to sales.
  • User seats and roles are the second lever. Licenses are role-based, and a Designer seat, used by someone building workflows, costs meaningfully more than an Explorer or Reader seat, used by someone who only consumes results.
  • Governance and LLM Mesh access round out the enterprise features. Centralized access controls, audit trails, and multi-model routing all sit behind a paid tier, confirmed by the trial's own exclusions.
  • Add-ons and organization size finish the list. Custom integrations, on-premises setup work, and higher support tiers all add to a quote, and larger organizations with stricter security or availability needs get routed to enterprise pricing specifically.

Most plans require an annual commitment, and monthly billing isn't typically available.

Third-party Dataiku cost estimates

Since Dataiku publishes nothing, every number circulating online is secondhand. Here's what's out there, each one named, dated, and labeled as an estimate.

  • Mammoth's pricing guide (last updated September 4, 2026) cites roughly $4,000 a month as a starting estimate, climbing into six figures a year for larger deployments. Mammoth states directly that this traces back to aggregator sites and forum posts, not to Dataiku.
  • PriceLevel lists a $26,000 median annual price, reported by actual buyers, for a 5-user Paid Edition. PriceLevel wound down operations and stopped accepting new pricing submissions in 2024. So, this number is frozen and shouldn't be read as current.
  • A Reddit thread in r/datascience, cited by Mammoth's guide, includes a buyer describing production features as costly relative to the value delivered. No specific dollar figure appears in that comment.

None of these numbers are Dataiku's list price. Treat them as a rough order of magnitude going into a sales call, not a quote.

Dataiku pricing compared to Alteryx, Databricks, KNIME, and Prophecy

Every platform in this category handles pricing differently, and only some of them publish anything.

Platform Published starting price Free option Higher tiers
Dataiku None, quote only Free Edition, 14-day trial Custom quote
Alteryx $250/user/month , billed annually (Starter edition) Free trial only Professional & Enterprise: custom quote
Databricks Consumption-based rate card, $0.07-$1.00+ per DBU Free Edition (individuals), 14-day trial Enterprise: negotiated, roughly 15–25% above Premium
KNIME Free (desktop), $19/month (Pro) Free desktop app Business Hub: custom quote
Prophecy $150/user/month (Professional) Free Starter tier Enterprise Express $4,000/month billed annually (up to 20 users); Enterprise custom

Alteryx rebranded as Alteryx One in 2025 and now publishes its entry-level Starter edition rate directly on alteryx.com. Professional and Enterprise stay quote-based.

Databricks publishes a rate card, but the bill scales with how much compute you consume rather than sitting at a flat monthly number. The underlying cloud infrastructure typically adds 30–60% (or more) on top of the DBU charge.

KNIME's core desktop application is free and open source, with Hub pricing published up through the Team tier.

Prophecy prices its Professional plan at $150 per user per month plus a monthly credit allowance, with Enterprise Express at $4,000 per month for up to 20 users, both published directly on its site.

Is Dataiku right for your team?

Dataiku fits your team when the job spans machine learning, AI agents, and governance across the full AI lifecycle.

The platform organizes around five capabilities: Agentic Transformation, Scalable Machine Learning, Modernized Analytics, AI Orchestration, and AI Governance.

Dataiku has been named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for AI Platforms for Data Science and ML for a fifth consecutive year, and the company states it's used by 1 in 4 of the top 500 companies on the 2024 Forbes Global 2000 list, excluding China.

Note: Dataiku's cited MQ page is internally inconsistent, with both 5th and 4th being cited on its site.

That breadth is built for a specific job. A team that mainly needs to clean, join, and prepare data, without building and deploying machine learning models or AI agents across an organization, is looking at a platform sized for a bigger job than the one in front of it.

Which of the five capability areas your team needs is worth nailing down before booking a demo, since a conversation scoped around governed AI agents gets a materially different quote than one scoped around business analysts preparing their own data.

Dataiku vs. Prophecy: What's different?

Think about who needs to move faster. If your data scientists and ML engineers are building and managing models and agents alongside analytics work, Dataiku is designed for that mix of projects.

If business analysts are waiting on data engineering to prepare data for each new question, Prophecy addresses that workflow. Analysts can describe what they need, inspect the steps the AI generates, and refine the logic in a visual pipeline.

In Dataiku, analytics sits alongside model building and AI agent development. Prophecy helps business analysts take a question through data preparation and analysis, with a workflow they can review as they go.

Put the next analytics request in your analyst’s hands

A business analyst shouldn’t have to send every new join, filter, or data quality question to engineering. With Prophecy, they can describe what they need, review the workflow the AI creates, and refine it before using the results.

‍

Request a demo with one of your team’s own questions. You’ll see what the analyst can complete and what the data team can inspect before the work goes further. Use the evaluation checklist to decide what to test.

Frequently asked questions

Does Dataiku have a free plan?

Yes, Dataiku has two free options. Its Free Edition runs locally with no time limit, while the cloud-hosted trial lasts 14 days. Neither requires a credit card, but the available features differ.

How much does Dataiku cost?

Dataiku uses custom pricing for paid plans. The quote depends on deployment, user needs, governance, LLM Mesh access, and AI agent features. Teams must contact Dataiku for an exact price.

What’s the difference between Dataiku’s Free Edition and free trial?

The main difference is deployment and duration. Dataiku Free Edition runs locally without a time limit. The 14-day trial runs in Dataiku’s cloud and lets teams test the hosted experience.

Is Dataiku worth it for a small team?

Yes, Dataiku can suit a small technical team that needs machine learning, governance, or AI workflows. Teams focused on basic data preparation may find its feature set too broad and difficult to justify.

What’s the difference between Dataiku and Prophecy?

The main difference between Dataiku and Prophecy is scope. Dataiku spans data prep, model building, agents, and governance. Prophecy focuses more closely on governed data pipelines and self-service analytics.
